Rob Schumacher is an Executive Director with Van Kampen Investments
and serves as the Chief Investment Strategist for the Van Kampen
Strategy Group. Built on four decades of experience in the financial
markets, Rob’s reputation for explaining the complex interactions of the
economy and capital markets in an easy-to-understand manner creates a
constant demand for his market and investment views from public and
professional audiences across the country. Additionally, he shares his
economic and market analyses through national media interviews and
web-based commentaries featuring his weekly Insight Line as well as the
monthly update to his Factors Driving the Economy and the Markets.
Prior to joining Van Kampen in 1998, Rob spent a number of years as the
Chief Fixed Income Strategist and senior portfolio manager at Kemper
Mutual Funds. Rob’s career experience also includes tenures as a senior
institutional sales manager, trading desk manager and senior economist.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from DePauw University and
a master’s degree in finance from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of
Management at Northwestern University. He holds Series 7, 26, and 63
securities registrations.
