Completion of Reorganization with Van Kampen Strategic Sector Municipal
Trust

Van Kampen Asset Management announced today that the proposed reorganization of Van Kampen Strategic Sector Municipal Trust (NYSE/CHX: VKS) into Van Kampen Select Sector Municipal Trust (AMEX/CHX: VKL) has been completed. In the reorganization, shareholders of VKS received newly issued shares of VKL. The conversion exchange rate (the rate by which one multiplies the amount of VKS common shares to determine the number of VKL common shares issued as part of the reorganization) was 1.001654, and the exchange ratio between preferred shares of VKS and preferred shares of VKL was one VKS preferred share into one VKL preferred share.
