Fiduciary Exchanges

If you move money from a non-retirement account with same class of shares to a retirement account, you are processing what is generally called a "fiduciary exchange", to fund your retirement account. This type of "fiduciary exchange" is processed as a redemption from your non-retirement account and a contribution at the next determined net asset value per share of the fund to your retirement account. This may be a taxable event; contact your tax advisor for more information about taxability.

Fiduciary Exchanges can generally be processed online.  An existing fiduciary account must be already established to process a fiduciary exchange.

Certain restrictions apply.  Excludes certain account types and the Van Kampen Senior Loan Fund.

Letter of Intent

A Letter of Intent allows investors to obtain a reduced sales charge by aggregating investments over a 13-month period to determine the sales charge on Class A shares. For more detailed information on the Letter of Intent option, please consult a fund prospectus or 529 Plan Disclosure Document.

Reinstatement Privilege

Class A or Class B shareholders: If you redeem shares of your fund, reinstate all or any portion of the net proceeds into Class A shares of the same fund within 180 days with no additional sales charge. Class C shareholders: Reinstate your account into Class C shares within 180 days and receive credit for any contingent sales charge paid upon redemption, provided the option has not been previously exercised for those shares.  Please consult a fund prospectus for more information.
